Continued quiet and warm weather with light winds expected over
the next 24 hours. The upper trough that brought clouds to the
area yesterday has moved off to the east and northeast leaving us
under sunny skies today, which will allow for slightly warmer
temperatures this afternoon. That trend will continue into
tomorrow with highs warming into the lower 90s in some locations,
after lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s tonight. Light and
variable winds today will become more organized from a southerly
direction tomorrow.

Upper level ridging will build over the area for the next few days,
as an upper high forms over Mexico. Temperatures will be 10+ degrees
above normal for portions of the area Wednesday through Friday.
Abilene`s current forecast for Thursday is only 4 degrees below the
record high for that date (forecast:95 Record:99). The ridging will
start to break down and shift east as a large upper trough moves
into the central U.S. from the west coast this weekend. Temperatures
will drop a a couple of degrees for the weekend, but will remain
well above normal. Dry conditions will continue for this week.
