.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1244 PM EDT Wed Oct 1 2025
Slightly cooler temperatures today and again tomorrow in the wake of the weak cool frontal boundary that has brought increased high cloud cover to the area today. However, highs today and tomorrow in the upper 70s to lower 80s are still about 8 to 11 degrees above normal and will see another rebound in temps beginning Friday through the weekend as a higher amplitude upper level ridge surges northward across the midwest and Ohio River Valley and even well north into central Canada into the Hudson Bay region.
Highs on Friday and Saturday will get well into the mid 80s. Sunday and Monday may be a couple degrees cooler with synoptic heights shrinking ahead of a trough originating over the Gulf of Alaska and dropping east and southward into the central Canada/CONUS early next week. A cold front associated with this system looks to move through the area late Monday night into Tuesday morning. This will bring cooler temperatures and chances for some light rain showers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs on Wednesday will only be in the mid to upper 60s.
