.KEY MESSAGES...

- Dry conditions the next 7 days with seasonably cool mornings and warm afternoons

&&

.SHORT TERM (THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT)...

Upper level ridging will be in control through the short term with continued dry conditions. Winds remain generally light out of the east to northeast. The dry air yields to mostly clear skies with seasonably cool, comfortable mornings followed by warm and less humid afternoons. Morning lows range from the upper 50s across portions of the Hill Country to the 60s elsewhere. The afternoon highs will climb into the upper 80s to near 90 degrees across the Hill Country to the low to mid 90s elsewhere.

&&

.LONG TERM (SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY)...

A weak disturbance aloft, that branches off from troughing in the Desert Southwest, helps weaken the ridging from late Sunday night into early Tuesday across Texas. This should allow for an increase in mid to high level clouds but looks to lack enough moisture or lift for the production of rain across the region. These clouds could help to cap the afternoon highs a degree or two lower on Monday. The upper level ridging then reaffirms itself over the state from mid to late next week, allowing for return of mostly clear skies. The less cloud cover along with a slight uptick in humidity levels, as the result of more of a prevailing east-southeasterly flow, could allow for a slight uptick in temperatures for mid to late next week. Afternoon highs may become more widespread in the mid to upper 90s while overnight lows inch upwards into the mid to upper 60s across more locations.

&&

.AVIATION (18Z FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY)...

VFR conditions are expected at area TAF sites through the current forecast period. Winds will generally remain light and variable or light from the north along I-35, with more of an easterly wind developing around 00Z. Winds will likely trend back to light and variable during the overnight hours. For DRT, southeast to east winds will continue through the period.
