.DISCUSSION...
KEY MESSAGES:
- A gradual daily drop in temperatures is expected beginning this weekend.
- An approaching low pressure system will bring accumulating precipitation to the region this weekend. WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
The overall weather pattern will only gradually change as the ridge of high pressure is slowly pushed eastward by an approaching trough of low pressure from the west. Today through Thursday, the warm and dry influence is still around. But starting on Friday, higher humidity and scattered rain showers will move into our region from the southwest.
Details are still subject to change, but initially it seems that the greater precipitation amounts will be across central and southern Montana through this weekend, before another high pressure ridge moves in next week. FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:
Deviations from NBM were hi-res blends for temps, winds, and PoPs through Days 1 and 2.
Confidence is high for the temperatures forecast. Confidence is medium for the wind forecast. Confidence is medium to low for precipitation details.
