.DISCUSSION... Issued at 259 AM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025
Areas of dense fog have developed across north-central Wisconsin early this morning as well as portions of central Wisconsin where visibilities have fallen to around one quarter of a mile. With several more hours of this fog expected will issue a Dense Fog Advisory for these areas this morning.
Dense fog and stratus will eventually burn off a few hours after sunrise across the region. Otherwise mostly sunny skies are expected today as high pressure stays in control of the region. A cold front sinking south tonight will bring the chance for some sprinkles this evening across north-central Wisconsin, but should otherwise track through the area fairly dry as model soundings show a dearth of moisture.
Temperatures will fall modestly behind the cold front on Friday, with a robust rebound this weekend as temperatures rise solidly into the 70s with a few 80 degree readings expected across the region. High pressure will be in control of the weather through much of the upcoming week with dry weather and above normal temperatures expected across the area.

.AVIATION...for 12Z TAF Issuance Issued at 619 AM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025
An area of dense fog with VLIFR conditions has settled in across north-central Wisconsin as well as locally at KGRB and some areas just to the west with VFR conditions across KAUW/KCWA. This fog should lift in the next few hours as the sun rises with only a few daytime cumulus clouds expected the rest of the day. Clouds will then increase late today into tonight, especially over northern Wisconsin as a cold front brings the chance for some light sprinkles. Models are hinting at some additional fog tonight across north-central Wisconsin, although with MVFR or IFR conditions instead of VLIFR expected.
