.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1224 PM CDT Sun Sep 28 2025

High pressure will continue to dominate the weather pattern across the Ark-La-Tex through much of the next week, with a strong upper-level ridge centered over the Ohio Valley, extending southwestward into East Texas. This ridge will suppress nearly all convection, keeping our region mostly dry for the next 7-10 days. The one exception will be on Thursday, when a week disturbance skirts our eastern zones, offering a very minimal chance of showers.

Temperatures will be running a few degrees above normal for late September and early October, with highs generally in the mid 80s to lower 90s. Overnight lows will also remain mild, with readings mostly in the mid to upper 60s throughout the period. This stretch of early-fall heat is a good reminder that summer can hang on well into October for parts of our region. Some may like it and some may be ready for cooler temperatures. /33/
