- Above normal temperatures and dry weather for the next 7 days.

&&

.SHORT TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/... Issued at 112 PM CDT Sun Sep 28 2025

Hardly any clouds in the sky today as high pressure continues to sit over us through the next few days as we stay in this blocking pattern. Highs today will be in the upper 80s with variable winds. It will feel rather dry out there as dewpoints sit in the 50s and humidity values stay in the 30-40% range. Tonight will be another pleasant night with mostly clear skies and lows in the upper 50s expected. Patchy ground fog may occur again by early Monday morning.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/... Issued at 112 PM CDT Sun Sep 28 2025

Even though October starts this week, it won`t quite feel like fall. Through the end of the forecast period we will be mostly dry and warmer than average. Ensemble cluster analysis shows a trough west of the area with tropical disturbances affecting the far southeast US. Our area looks to be caught in between with high pressure in control. A persistence forecast will prevail for much of the week. 850mb temps in the 12-14C range will support highs in the 80s which is above average (average highs are in the upper 70s). The latest NBM and other extended guidance continues to show rain chances remaining below 10 percent for at least the next 7 days.
