.DISCUSSION... Issued at 218 PM EDT Thu Sep 25 2025

Upper trough swinging through in cyclonic flow will generate a few showers this afternoon into early this evening given lingering boundary layer moisture and weak diurnal instability. This trough axis exits off to the east tonight into Friday with heights on the rise with a drier/subsident air mass filtering in. Otherwise, clearing skies and light winds may allow for some patchy fog/stratus to develop overnight into early Friday as the near sfc layer will be slower to dry out.

A stretch of pleasant (dry/warmer) weather then settles in Friday through at least the middle of next week. Upper ridging building east from the Canadian Prairies/Northern Plains to the Great Lakes and Ontario in a pseudo omega block pattern will provide this quiet wx pattern locally.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z FRIDAY/... Issued at 148 PM EDT Thu Sep 25 2025

Northwest winds 7-10kts through the afternoon with occasional passing showers through sunset. Overnight, MVFR/IFR conditions will be possible for much of the area as patchy fog develops. Lower confidence near SBN and areas west, so have left that out of this TAF package for now. Once fog burns off through daybreak tomorrow, VFR prevails under mostly clear skies and light winds.
