.DISCUSSION... Issued at 120 PM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025
...Synopsis...
Large scale ridging will continue across much of the CONUS for the forecast period. A brief breakdown in the apex of the ridge will allow for some showers and a few rumbles of thunder Friday evening, but otherwise impacts will be limited. Above normal temperatures will continue through the next week as the ridging continues to linger.
Ensemble guidance hints at southwest flow potentially setting up next week, which is reflected in NBM probabilities for precipitation around 20%. Smaller scale features have a low predictability and the spread significantly breaks down so predictability for weather impacts is low.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z SATURDAY/... Issued at 1026 PM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025
VFR will prevail throughout the TAF period, with no aviation impacts expected. Light and variable winds overnight will pick up in the morning from the south/southeast, becoming gusty in the afternoon. Gusts will drop off after sunset Friday evening, but an approaching cold front will begin to shift the wind direction to the northwest late in the TAF period.
